High water levels damage Mamit Lake Dam

LOGAN LAKE, B.C. — High water levels has caused damage to the Mamit Lake dam south of Logan Lake.

In a press release, Tech Highland Valley Copper says the extent of the damage is not known at this time.

The dam isn’t used for mining purposes, officials saying it’s primary use is for agriculture purposes as well to sustain fish habitats.

Residents and communities have been notified of the damage, with engineers continuing to monitor the situation.
