Evacuation ordered in Cherry Creek

KAMLOOPS — The Thompson-Nicola Regional District has issued an evacuation order for 11 properties in Cherry Creek.

The order was issued at 8:00 p.m. Friday evening, due to “the potential danger to life and health,” and a State of Local Emergency has been declared.

Emergency officials say the evacuation is due to a “rapidly moving flooding event.”

The properties in question are:

• 1472, 1490 and 1501 Greenstone Rd; 
• 5080 and 5096 Lazy Acres Rd; 
• 5160 and 5168 Beaton Rd 
• 5012, 5032, 5064, 5108, 5420, 5524, 5552, 5556, 5556, 5560, 5558 and 5688 Trans Canada Hwy
