Bears finding food in the hills

VERNON, B.C. — There have been fewer bear complaints so far this spring — which is a by-product of the weather.

Frank Ritcey, provincial coordinator for Wildsafe BC, says the wet weather has provided lots of green grass in the hills for bears to eat.

“So the bears are up there eating that.”

However, Ritcey says residents should start their ‘Bear Aware’ preparations now.
