KAMLOOPS — Kamloops Youth Soccer is holding its first domestic tournament of the season this weekend.

The Mike Bartram Memorial Youth Soccer Tournament is named for a local soccer icon, one of the associations most dedicated volunteers and a Kamloops Sports Hall of Fame’er.

From the time he arrived in Kamloops in 1973 to his death in the fall of 2000 Mike Bartram was committed to soccer in Kamloops at the youth, adult and university levels.

His role in developing girls soccer is a lasting legacy — recruiting players and finding coaches when the girls program was in its infancy.
