KAMLOOPS — The Kamloops building sector had a strong April, and is nearly keeping pace with 2016.

$11.2 million in permits were taken out from the City of Kamloops last month, up from $10.3 million in the same month last year.

That brings the year-to-date total to $32.8 million, just behind last year’s pace of $34.1 million.

The majority of the permits were taken out for single family homes, with 16 new starts last month.
