KAMLOOPS — The second annual ‘Green Living Expo’ took place at the Sandman Centre Saturday.

More than 50 exhibitors were on site promoting their companies sustainable practices and services.

The event also featured a variety of speakers and workshops focused on green living as well free yoga classes and a food truck festival.

Glen Cheetham, Sustainability Services Manager with the City of Kamloops says the event is part of the city’s ‘Sustainable Kamloops’ plan.

“What that really means is to make sure we’re using our resource the best way we can,” said Cheetham. “To be smart with the energy we use to heat our homes. To make good choices about how we travel around the community. This show is an opportunity to bring people together who have similar interests, as well as to potentially educate those who want to live more on how they can live more sustainably.”

Cheetham says this year’s show surpassed their expectations, with vendor count double from last year.
