Senator Nancy Greene Raine undergoing treatment for thyroid cancer

KAMLOOPS — Senator Nancy Greene Raine is receiving treatment for thyroid cancer. 

The champion alpine skier and Director of Skiing at Sun Peaks Resort will be having her thyroid removed in Kelowna today. 

According to a news release, Greene Raine and her husband, Sun Peaks mayor Al Raine, are positive about the outcome of her treatments. 

Greene Raine was voted Canada’s female athlete of the 20th century in a Canadian Press poll in 1999 after winning Olympic gold and silver medals in 1968 and overall World Cup titles that year and in 1967.
