Stone announces $92.6M to widen TCH from Chase to Jade Mountain

CHASE, B.C. — While much government attention and money has been paid to widening the Trans Canada Highway between Kamloops and Chase in the past decade, the province is now looking further east.

Transportation Minister Todd Stone announced today a $92.6 million project to widen the route from Chase to Jade Mountain, a 3.1-kilometre stretch.

The investment will be split between the provincial and federal governments.

Construction is expected to begin in 2019, with completion by 2021.

Stone says the project will make the highway safer, less congested and with more passing opportunities for travellers.
