KAMLOOPS — RCMP have two men in custody in relation to an attempted residential break-in in Brocklehurst, and are on the lookout for a third.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says at about 9:20 this morning, a homeowner on Fleetwood Avenue called to report three men trying get into his home.

Officers attended, and the police dog service helped them track two of the men down quickly.

Shelkie says the third may have hurt himself in the escape.

“Residents in the area called the RCMP to report that a male with a significant limp was going from yard to yard and jumping fences. We are asking anyone in Brocklehurst who sees a male with a significant limp to contact us.”

Shelkie says the suspect is not believed to be dangerous, and RCMP have alerted Royal Inland Hospital in case anyone comes in seeking medical attention for a leg injury.

“We don’t believe (he is dangerous) at all. It’s better, though, if you see someone to give us a call rather than going up and approaching him. We have no indication at this time that he would be dangerous.”
