Swimmer Ryan Cochrane retires after two Olympic, eight world championship medals

VICTORIA — Two-time Olympic medallist Ryan Cochrane is retiring from swimming.

The 28-year-old from Victoria made the announcement this morning.

Cochrane won Olympic silver in the 1,500 metres in 2012 in London and bronze in 2008 in Beijing.

He finished sixth in the distance in Rio.
