KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say luckily no one was hurt after a train struck a vehicle at the Tanager Road Crossing in Valleyview Saturday night.

According to Sgt. Darren Michels, the driver of a small Toyota was turning left off the East Trans-Canada Highway onto Tanager Road just after 11 p.m. when the car slid off the road and ended up stuck on the tracks.

The driver and passenger quickly left the vehicle and called police.

Shortly after, a westbound train ended up hitting and severely damaging the car, with no injuries reported.
