WolfPack’s Volodymyr Iegorov Canada West 1st all-star

KAMLOOPS — Volodymyr Iegorov played only two seasons with the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack, but he made his time with the basketball program count.

Iegorov led both on and off the court during his two seasons with the ‘Pack.  After being named a third team Canada West all-star in 2015-16, Iegorov was chosen today as a Canada West first team all-star for 2016-17.

The 6’7” Masters of Business student from Donetsk, Ukraine was third in the Canada West in rebounds per game (9.1).  He was  second in free throw percent (84.9),third in field goals (129-303) , fourth in defensive rebounds (137), sixth in points (365) and points per game (18.3) , seventh in minutes played (653) minutes per game (32.7) and blocks (26), and 11 th in assists (69).

Iegorov was in double digits in both rebounds and scoring in all five of the WolfPack’s playoff games.

When he learned of his selection to the first-all-star team, Thompson Rivers head coach Scott Clark stated. “His selection was well deserved. Vlad has put in countless hours in the weight room and on the court. It’s great to see his efforts are being rewarded.”

Iegorov played out his USport eligibility this season.  He will return to TRU in the fall to complete his Master’s degree and hopes to stay in Canada.
