WolfPack Split Weekend Series with Vikes After 7 Point Win

Kamloops, BC-  After being called out by their coach, the Thompson Rivers University WolfPack came out inspired and went onto down the visiting University of Victoria Vikes Saturday (Jan 7).

The ‘Pack outscored the Vikes 23-8 in the first quarter en route to a 78-71 win.  The Canada West men’s basketball game was played on the Warner Rentals Court at the Tournament Capital Centre.

SYNOPSIS

After TRU head coach Scott Clark described Friday’s 86-76 loss to the Vikes as embarrassing for his players, they played inspired basketball in the first half and later withstood a late charge by Victoria to win.

Volodymr Iegorov (5th year, forward, Donetsk, Ukraine), who was a Canada West third team all-star last year led the way with 20 points.   Joe Davis (2nd year, forward, Kamloops, BC)  added 19 points.

Victoria’s top scorer was Scott Kellum (1st year, guard, Issaquah, WA) with 15 points. Justin Kinnear (3rd year, forward, Montreal, QC) added 11
