Fog clears, airlines rush to move Kamloops passengers

KAMLOOPS — There is good news today for airline passengers stranded by yesterday’s fog in Kamloops.

Airport Manager Fred Legace says it shouldn’t be a problem to get those passengers moving today.

“We’re hoping that everybody can get on their travel plans. The air carriers are operating additional flights,” said Legace.

“Westjet is operating an additional flight this afternoon. Air Canada Express, a couple this morning and then a couple this afternoon as well. With that, we should be able to move everybody that was left behind yesterday.”

But Legace notes there may be more delays and cancellations coming due to a storm expected to make its way through the province.

“The forecast for Kamloops doesn’t show much activity here, but we can certainly expect to see some delays building into the system from other airports as they endure the effects of it.”

Legace encourages passengers to be in touch with their specific air carriers for the most up-to-date information on flight schedules.
