The snow just keeps coming on area highways, but flying conditions are better

KAMLOOPS —  It doesn’t seem to matter where you’re travelling, the snow is going to be an issue on the highways. The Coquihalla is again going to be the worst. Yet another snowfall warning continues for the highway between Hope and Merritt today, with a major dump of snow forecast. Drive B.C. suggests you might want to consider an alternate route. Another 15-25 centimeters is forecast, along with the snow already accumulated over the Christmas weekend.

The Fraser Canyon has been added to the list of areas covered by the warnings today, so that’s not the best alternate route to the coast. 10-15 centimeters of snow expected on that route, which can tend to be a wetter, heavier snow than we typically receive on the Coquihalla.

There’s already a warning on the Trans Canada from Eagle Pass through the Rogers Pass. Another 15-25 centimeters expected there.

Compact snow, slippery sections and the odd black ice section reported on all interior routes this morning.
