KAMLOOPS — A couple from Merritt are awaiting charges after being found in possession of allegedly stolen mail.

RCMP say they received a report early this morning that mail had been taken from a community mailbox in Peachland.

The haul included a piece of Canada Post bait mail.

RCMP tracked the bait mail to a gas station in West Kelowna, and arrested the two a short time later.

Among the items recovered by police were a cellular phone, gift cards and Canadian passports.

The suspects, a 42 year old man and a 37 year old woman, were expected to answer to charges in provincial court today.
