Two dead in suspicious house fire in Williams Lake

WILLIAMS LAKE, B.C. — Two people have died in a house fire in Williams Lake, and RCMP believe the fire may have been deliberately set.

According to an RCMP news release, fire crews and police responded to a structure fire in a trailer park at about 3:19 this morning.

While crews worked to extinguish the first home, they noticed a second home not far away also in flames.

Occupants of the first home escaped unharmed, but police say two occupants of the second home were not so fortunate.

RCMP and the Williams Lake Fire Department are investigating, and have classified both fires as suspicious.

Police are asking for anyone with information on the fires to call the Williams Lake RCMP detachment at 250-392-6211.
