KAMLOOPS — Kamloops mayor Peter Milobar has removed himself from the council committee designated to negotiate a community benefit agreement with KGHM-Ajax.

Milobar says the move is not due to conflict of interest, but rather due to the potential that he won’t be on council after next May, the time of the provincial election.

City Councillor Ken Christian will take Milobar’s place on the negotiating committee,  which also deals with the city’s industrial tax rate, along with Dieter Duty and Pat Wallace.
