WolfPack men’s basketball sweep Timberwolves

KAMLOOPS — TRU men’s basketball celebrated their second straight weekend sweep, beating the University of Northern British Columbia Timberwolves 92-80 Saturday night.

This is the WolfPack’s fifth victory of the season and fourth in a row. 

Forward Volodymyr Legorov and guard Derek Rhodes led Kamloops with 23 points a piece.

The game marked the last before Christmas break, with the WolfPack visiting Lancaster, California for a pair of exhibition games on December 29 and 30.

The men’s next home game is Jan 6

Meanwhile, the WolfPack women’s basketball team goes into the Canada West women’s basketball Christmas break on a two-game losing streak. 

The ‘Pack were swept by the home town UNBC Timberwolves 68-57 Saturday night. 

Guard Leilani Carney led the offense for TRU with 16 points.

“We didn’t rebound all weekend and gave up too many possessions to UNBC,” said Scott Reeves, TRU Head Coach. “We have to have a better commitment to the fundamentals.”

The women will play an exhibition game December 30th at Trinity Western University.

Their next home game is Friday,Jan. 6.
