Canadian government says B.C. man dead, another Canadian under arrest in Mexico

VANCOUVER — A Canadian killed in Mexico has been identified by family and friends as a 48-year-old man from Victoria.

Several Facebook posts offer condolences to Roger Corbett’s family and his son refers to Corbett and his rock and foundation.

A post from the family says the death occurred Sunday while Corbett was vacationing in Mexico.

Global Affairs Canada confirms they are providing consular services to the family.

Global Affairs spokesman Austin Jean also says a second Canadian was taken into custody in Mexico following the death and consular staff are assisting him too.
