Drivers reminded to stay alert as Daylight Saving Time ends

KAMLOOPS — The time change might throw some people off their schedules, but ICBC is hoping it won’t affect how well they drive.

ICBC spokesperson Sam Corea says there is typically a spike in crashes this time of year.

“As Daylight Saving Time ends the drivers can expect to deal with darker commutes, poor weather conditions, less visibility,” Corea said. “So it’s important for us to adjust our speed so we don’t feel the need to rush to get to where we need to go.”

Corea says it’s also important for cyclists and pedestrians to make sure they’re visible to drivers on the road.
