No cause pinpointed for Shuswap fatal

CHASE, B.C. —  An investigation has failed to pinpoint a cause of a deadly crash in the Shuswap last year.

A car collided with a tour bus on Highway 1 near Chase in July 2015, killing the car’s 19 year old driver Sascha Hedrich of Pritchard.

The vehicles collided head on when the victim’s car failed to negotiate a curve.

The BC Coroner’s Service says there was no indication of distracted driving, the weather was clear, and neither vehicle had any mechanical defects.

Hedrich was driving home after a day of work, but had no medical issues, and no drugs or alcohol in his system.
