Royal gift from Kamloops given to Duke and Duchess

KAMLOOPS —  A Kamloops company played a part in the celebrations surrounding the Royal Visit to Kelowna yesterday.

Mike Miltimore of Riversong Guitars, had a special opportunity that he said was one of the highlights of his life. The company, which has received international acclaim in recent years for its particular type of guitar, was chosen to present guitars to Prince William and Kate, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge at celebrations yesterday at a Kelowna winery.

Miltimore said it was a tremendous opportunity to meet the Royals, as well as talk about the technology surrounding the guitars, which are being endorsed by artists all over the world.

Besides presenting William and Kate special guitars of their own, the company made two small ukeleles for the Royals two children.
