KAMLOOPS — The province has announced a $560,000 project to improve drainage around the Peterson Creek Bridge in Kamloops.

According to a news release, the work will benefit both the bridge’s longevity and hikers who use the trail system below.

Extreme Excavating of Kamloops was awarded the contract, and work is scheduled to begin later this month and last between four and six weeks.

The Ministry of Transportation says some lane closures may be necessary between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on construction days, but traffic impacts are expected to be minimal.
