LYTTON, B.C. — There is good news on the South Spencer Road wildfire south of Lytton this afternoon, Sep 1.

Fire Information Officer Max Birkner says the blaze is now listed at 30 per cent contained.

Birkner adds the strong winds that blew throughout the day actually helped firefighters.

“There are some favourable winds going on, which is causing this fire to begin burning back on itself so that has been assisting the firefighters in their suppression efforts,” Birkner said.
