Passenger train collision kills man in Spences Bridge

SPENCES BRIDGE, B.C. — The BC Coroners Service has identified a man who was hit and killed by a passenger train in Spences Bridge over the weekend.

He was 40 year old Jonathon Christopher Harris of Kelowna.

Spokesperson Barb McLintock says the collision happened at about 3:50 Saturday morning.

McLintock says Harris was walking westbound on the rail tracks when he was hit by an eastbound Via Rail train that was bound from Vancouver to Kamloops.
