KAMLOOPS — The B.C. Wildfire Service has sent additional resources to fight a fire in the Cherry Creek area.

Fire Information Officer Rachel Witt said the fire was reported earlier this afternoon, Aug 14, as spot sized. Later, the fire was estimated to be 0.1 hectares in size.

“The ground crew that was sent, the three firefighting personnel, they are currently having difficulty gaining access into the fire,” Witt explained. “We have requested that two air tankers as well as a bird dog also come to the fire and help fight it by air. They will work on containment.”
