One Kamloops athlete named to Canada Rio Olympics team

KAMLOOPS — Canada has named a team of 313 athletes for the Rio Olympics.

The contingent is made up of 187 women and 126 men.

Catharine Pendrel in mountain bike is the only Kamloops athlete.

This will be Pendrel’s third Olympics.

Dylan Armstrong is not on the Canadian team.

Armstrong, who represented Canada in the shot put at the last two Olympics, won’t be competing in Rio because of injury issues.
