KAMLOOPS —   BC’s southern Interior could be the next to endure some wicked weather.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for eight areas of south-central B-C, from the North and South Thompson, Nicola, Shuswap and Okanagan regions to the West Columbia, Kootenay, Arrow and Slocan lakes.

A storm system packing thunderstorms and potentially heavy rain is expected to pass through the areas this afternoon and tonight.

Environment Canada warns some areas may only see showers, but others could be drenched by more than 20-millimetres within a short period before the system drifts eastward overnight.
