KAMLOOPS — UPDATE-   A successful search in the Logan Lake area yesterday (Thursday)  afternoon for a man missing in the Logan Lake area. The man apparently had dementia and there was concern for his safety. Kamloops Search and Rescue joined their counterparts in Logan Lake late yesterday afternoon and the subject was located safe and sound. A police dog searching the area earlier in the day had found some of the man’s clothing which helped point crews in the right direction.

EARLIER- Kamloops Search and Rescue have been called in to assist Logan Lake Search and Rescue in looking for a missing elderly man with dementia.

KSAR Volunteer Search Manager, Alan Hobler, said the RCMP had been searching in the Logan Lake area for about three hours before the search team was called in to assist.

“It’s my understanding that RCMP have been searching already and they’ve had a (search and rescue) dog up there that has located some of the person’s clothing, so that’s a good sign and hopefully by the time we get up there they’ll have located the person,” Hobler said.
