KAMLOOPS —  Two people are in custody this morning after police thwarted a breakin downtown on Lansdowne Street.

Police were called at 3:45 this morning by a shop owner who was using a remote monitoring system. He spotted two people entering his business at 238 Lansdowne Street. Police responded and cordoned off the area. Eventually they tracked down the suspects at the west end of Riverside Park using a police dog.

The 35 year old man and 18 year old woman are both in custody facing a number of charges.

Police have recovered some of the items stolen from the business and are searching for other items that the thieves may have tossed as they tried to escape.
