McGill Rd. incident comes to peaceful resolution

KAMLOOPS — After a standoff which lasted several hours, RCMP arrested the second suspect involved in the shooting incident at 795 McGill Rd.

At 11:20 this morning, Kamloops RCMP recieved a call of shots fired at the Landmark Heights development. Police report two men were involved in an altercation, when one of them produced a firearm. The gun was discharged, and both men fled the scene. One suspect was arrested shortly after the incident, while the other was located inside a residence at the scene.

RCMP spent several hours negotiating with the suspect inside the residence before the situation came to an end, and have yet to provide further details about the standoff; reports are no one was injured.

According to RCMP at the scene, the investigation is ongoing.
