KAMLOOPS — Davi Millsaps from Murrieta, California took the checkered flag in the second moto to finish first overall at Whispering Pines on Sunday.

His win in the first race of the Canadian national motoscross series came three months’s after Millsaps suffered three broken ribs and a severely bruised and collapsed lung at an American Supercross race.

Millsaps, who had finished second in the first moto, out-raced the big three of Matt Goerke, Colton Facciotti and Brett Metcalfe.

Goerke, Facciotti and Metcalfe had combined to win the last five MX1 races and seven of the last eight.
