Dylan Armstrong issues statement on his wife’s positive doping test

KAMLOOPS — Shot putter Evgeniia Kolodko is one of eight Russian athletes to test positive for a banned substance in a re-test from the 2012 London Olympics.

Kolodko is married to Canadian shot putter Dylan Armstrong from Kamloops.

After learning of the positive test Armstrong sent an e-mail statement to CBC saying the news is difficult because it affects the Olympic athletic community that he is a part of, and someone he loves deeply.

Armstrong says he will continue to offer his love, patience and support to his wife and will encourage her to cooperate fulling with the IOC and World Anti-Doping Agency.
