KAMLOOPS — Today, at the John Tod Centre on the North Shore, the Kamloops Y celebrated Healthy Kids Day, inviting families to come over and take advantage of the SD 73 Pro D day, and have some fun.

The event, which is usually held on a Sunday in June, drew over 450 kids, and around 1300 people to John Tod Y. Janis Arner, Director of Family Services with the Kamloops Y says they picked the earlier date to avoid some of the scorching temperatures Kamloops gets in the summer.

“We thought ‘let’s pick a time of year when it’s maybe going to be a bit cooler,’” Arner told CFJC Today. “It’s a beautiful day, today, and it’s not nearly as screaming hot as it was last year.”
