KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say a man was slashed with a knife on the North Shore over night, but the victim is the only person in custody.

Just after midnight, officers and paramedics responded to a reported stabbing in the area of 12th Street.

When they arrived, they found a 30 year old man with a three-to-four inch wound across his cheek.

The man didn't cooperate with investigators, but police determined he had an outstanding warrant for breaching previously set conditions.

After he was released from Royal Inland Hospital, police arrested him.

Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says whoever the perpetrator is, the victim isn't giving him or her up.

"(The victim) received stitches and was released, so he wasn't badly hurt," says Shelkie. "We are still investigating the assault, even though he's no cooperative, and we're asking anyone that has any information to please give us a call here at the detachment or to call Crime Stoppers."
