KAMLOOPS — The head of the BC Lottery Corporation says a Request for Proposals issued for its Kamloops headquarters this week affirms the Crown corporation's commitment to the Tournament Capital.

BCLC is looking for a real estate advisor in order to determine where and how the headquarters should be housed.

CEO Jim Lightbody says the current building is more than 50 years old, and the corporation needs something new.

"What we're going to look for from a real estate advisory service (are) things like conducting a needs assessment for our future state business functions, to help us develop site plans, structure and mechanical performance specs, concept drawings, et cetera," said Lightbody.

Lightbody says Kamloops has been good to BCLC and vice versa, and there are no plans to move the headquarters anywhere else.

The RFP closes on May 19.
