RCMP arrest man allegedly firing off gun

KAMLOOPS — RCMP have arrested a 26-year-old man for firearms offences. 

In a release, Kamloops RCMP said they received a call about a man with a gun, allegedly firing it off, at approximately 8:30 p.m. Saturday evening. He was reportedly threatening to hurt himself and others. 

Kamloops City and Rural Officers attempted to make contact with the man at his last known location on Kootenay Way.

The Emergency Response Team, police dog unit and a helicopter were called in to assist in the search for the suspect, who was located at a home on West Shuswap Road.
