KAMLOOPS — Two lunchtime diners were taken to hospital this afternoon after an SUV crashed through the front of the restaurant where they were enjoying their lunch.

Just after 12:15, a Dodge Journey careened through the front of Tiger Ramen Japanese Noodles in the Columbia Place shopping complex.

The female driver wasn’t hurt, but Kamloops RCMP say two customers were taken to Royal Inland Hospital with minor injuries.

According to a witness, the elderly driver said she momentarily mistook the brake pedal for the accelerator.
