Fatal motorcycle crash in the Shuswap

CHASE, B.C. — Police in Chase are still investigating after a fatal hit and run in the Shuswap yesterday.

A 60-year old male resident of Chase died in the accident, involving a motorcycle and a pickup.

Sergeant Gary Heebner says the bike rider was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident happened on the Squilax-Anglemont Road in the Shuswap yesterday afternoon.

Heebner says police determined a second vehicle was involved in the accident.

Police later arrested a 55-year old Sorrento resident.

The suspect’s pickup was seized as part of the investigation.

The suspect is still being held in custody.

No names released yet.
