Mica Dam upgrade now complete near Revelstoke

REVELSTOKE, B.C. — Construction on two new generating units at Mica Dam near Revelstoke has just been completed.
The BC Hydro project was worth $714-million dollars. It now means there are six generating units at the dam.
Another 1,000 megawatts of electricity is able to be generated now so Mica is able to power over 650-thousand homes.
With the dam project over, BC Hydro now will concentrate on finishing it’s other major capital project which is a high voltage transmission line between the Interior and Lower Mainland.
