Police say sexual assault may be related to other incidents at UBC

VANCOUVER — Police say a 20-year-old woman has been sexually assaulted on the University of British Columbia campus.

Police say the woman was walking alone Friday night when a man suddenly came out of a wooded area and grabbed her, violently shaking her with both arms and forcing her to the ground.

The woman was hit in the head, but fought off the man — who fled — and called 911.

They say the incident may be related to a series of “night prowler events” where a man was seen lurking in bathrooms and bedrooms at UBC residences, and fled when he was detected.
