Reigning Olympic champion Rosie MacLennan clinches berth in 2016 Rio Games
KAMLOOPS — Reigning women’s Olympic trampoline champion Rosie MacLennan earned her place in the 2016 Rio Games with a convincing victory on Sunday at the Canada Cup.
MacLennan, from Toronto, placed first in the women’s senior event with a two-day total score of 152.500 points, followed by three-time Olympic medal winner Karen Cockburn of Toronto, (148.185) and Samantha Sendel of Aurora, Ont., (147.420).
“Things went a little bit better in the final today than in the prelims but there’s still a lot of room for improvement,” said MacLennan.
