KAMLOOPS — Kamloops RCMP say a female officer was injured while attempting to arrest a male suspect Friday night at 8pm.

Corporal Jodi Shelkie says RCMP received a call from U-Haul that one of their trucks had been stolen.

Shelkie says, “minutes later an officer in an unmarked vehicle saw the truck driving on Highway 5 into Kamloops. The vehicle pulled over near Copperhead Drive.”

That’s when RCMP moved in to arrest the driver, but the suspect resisted arrest and began kicking and struggling against the officers.
