Craigmont Mine near Merritt to restart production

MERRITT, B.C. — Nicola Mining says the Craigmont Mine property near Merritt which has sat idle since the company entered creditor protection in 2013 will roar back to life next month.

CEO and Director Peter Espig says the company has redeveloped its mill, and will focus on that aspect of the operation.

“You’ve got a treasure chest which is the mine property, and essentially we’re the key,” Espig told CFJC Today. “We are focused on our mill site; that is who we are, and what we are. We’ve got four contracts with small high grade properties, and they will be bringing the material to us, and essentially we split the profit between the two sides.”

Espig adds the operation that used to mine and mill silver will switch to gold, and will be able to pour gold bars on site.
