KAMLOOPS — A Kamloops hip hop artist is paying tribute to a friend gone too soon.

Timo Sargent, released song a song called ‘Some Other Time,’ written for his friend Ryan Pinneo.

Pinneo was just 22 years old when he died last month after ingesting a deadly dose of fentanyl.

According to Pinneo’s family, the young man likely believed he was taking OxyContin at the time.

“I guess the idea just came from that night realizing that so often we are focused on our lives that we say, ‘oh I’ll see that guy at summer time’ or ‘I’ll got out with friends some other weekend’ and I just started realizing that you say that, then there is no other time.” said Sargent.

Sargent says the death of his friend hit him very hard.

Sargent adds Pinneo was the first of his friend group to die, and it brought home how much the decisions you make about your body can impact your friends and family.
