Western Canada Theatre unveils 2016/17 lineup

KAMLOOPS — Western Canada Theatre has unveiled its lineup for the 2016/2017 season, and its a long list of what are sure to be showstopping performances. 

The biggest, this year’s holiday musical. ‘Mamma Mia’ the jukebox musical based on the songs of ABBA will be Western Canada Theatre’s annual musical production. Running at the Sagebrush Theatre from November 24th to December 6th the production will feature a cast of 20 actors, singers and dancers. It’s one of the largest performances the company has ever done, and Western Canada Theatre is one of only 3 theatre’s in all of Canada to get the rights to the show. It’s expected to be a big hit. 

Some of the other productions for the upcoming season will be:

‘Made in Italy’ a hilarious coming of age story about an Italian teenager growing up in Jasper in the 1970’s.

‘Blithe Spirit’

‘The Comedy of Errors’ by Shakespeare which will feature 5 actors playing multiple roles.

‘Ring of Fire’ the story of country music legend Johnny Cash.

As well, WCT has unveiled its Re-Imagine series, which will feature 2 productions exploring the relationship between First Nations People and Settlers, ‘The Cure for Death by Lightning’ and ‘Only Drunks and Children Tell the Truth’
