Driver escapes injury in frightening Yellowhead highway crash

KAMLOOPS — Rural RCMP say a pickup truck driver avoided injury after a close call on the Yellowhead Highway last night.

According to the driver of a southbound semi, a pickup truck came up alongside, drifted into his lane and clipped the front of the semi, sending the pickup careening across the oncoming lanes.

The truck came to rest on an embankment near the Kamloopa Pow Wow Grounds.

Police say it’s fortunate there was no traffic coming northbound, or else the collision could have been a lot worse.
