WolfPack men’s basketball win streak ends

KAMLOOPS — The Thompson Rivers University WolfPack men’s basketball team saw their four game Canada West winning streak come to a halt on Friday night (Feb 12).

The WolfPack fell to the host University of the Fraser Valley Cascades 82-79 in Abbotsford. The result leaves TRU at 14-3 on the year while Fraser Valley improves to 11-6.
“We need to be better defensively,” said WolfPack head coach Scott Clark. “We gave up too many points.”

TRU was up by two (15-13) after the first quarter but trailed 29-26 at the half.

Fraser Valley was led by Kevon Parchment who had 33 points and 14 rebounds to start his final CIS home weekend. Vijay Dhillon added 17 points while Nate Brown scored 13 points.

For the ‘Pack: Reese Pribilsky (5th year, guard, Victoria, BC) had 21 points. Luke Morris (3rd year, forward, Mission, BC) added 18. Volodymyr Iegorov (4th year, forward, Donetsk, Ukraine) added 17 while Gerard Gore (5th year, forward, St. John’s, Antiqua) added 10 points.

The two teams will play again Saturday (Feb 13) in Abbotsford. The WolfPack return home to close out their Canada West regular season at home. They will face the University of British Columbia Okanagan Heat on Feb 19-20 at the Tournament Capital Centre. Tip off on Friday (Feb 19) on the Warner Rentals Court will be 8 pm.
