Fog cancels flights at Kamloops Airport

KAMLOOPS — YKA Airport is reporting a series of flight cancellations this morning due to the fog.

Airport Manager Fred Legace says the soup was exceptionally thick.

“We started our day off with a very low level fog, we had very thick fog right down to ground level, and that’s not something we can really land airplanes in,” said Legace, adding “we did have some cancellations already this morning, and we are probably expecting a few more to continue. The temperature needs to rise a little bit before the fog burns off.”

Legace says this is not unusual for Kamloops, but he says normally it will burn off quicker than what we have seen so far today.
